I'm working on my partner's site for his salon. He'll be huckin' shampoo, etc on the site- can anyone recommend a good ecommerce package? The hosting is with Pair Networks and they have deals with Americart and Shopsite. I've never implemented anything like this, and while I'm sure it's fairly easy, I don't know much about the companies that provide this service.
Thanks-
Ron

Re: ecommerce pkg recommendations?
Thu, September 2, 2004 - 10:47 AMIMHO, the best PHP/mySQL implementation of a shopping cart/ecommerce situation is osCommerce (oscommerce.com/). It has full shopping cart and inventory management. A couple companies that I've implemented it for have liked it enough to use it as their point-of-sale, too.
Has links into UPS, FedEx, USPS to automatically calculate shipping costs, many plugins available for Authorize.net, PayPal, etc. etc. etc.
Can't beat the price (free). Since it's open-source and community driven, I usually ask my client to make a donation to the project.
HTH!
